Coco Gauff Convincingly Beaten by Jessica Pegula in All-American WTA Finals Tie

Coco Gauff's attempt to win the WTA Finals ended in defeat against her fellow American, Jessica Pegula.

Pegula, the fifth seed, convincingly defeated the 19-year-old US Open champion with a score of 6-2, 6-1 in just an hour.

Pegula expressed her satisfaction with her performance, having "reset" and found her confidence for the finals.

Pegula will face the world No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka, or the second seed, Iga Świątek, in the final.

The rain suspended the Sabalenka-Świątek semifinal, moving the final match to Monday.

Pegula has been impressive in the tournament, with a 4-0 record and victories over higher-ranked opponents.

The match against Gauff was her second win in three meetings against her compatriot.

Gauff had the chance to become the first teenager since Maria Sharapova in 2004 to win the tournament.

Pegula is excited about her upcoming final and the confidence it will give her for the next year.

Gauff and Pegula will also team up in the doubles competition, aiming to make it to the semifinals.
